Luke and Lily were all ready as you can see and we were off to see the animals.

First the elephant. Luke's favorite. These were Asian Elephants not African Elephants. Asians have a humped back, smaller head, and only males have tusks. At least that is what the volunteer zoo educator told us.

I don't know if I believe all they tell you. Where do these "volunteers" come from anyway. What are there credentials. After traveling in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, and watching Slum dog Millionaire (where the kid takes the tourists on the tour of the Taus ma hall), it makes you wonder if the old retired volunteers aren't running the same scam. I didn't tip the guy just in case.

The Giraffes were long necked and big hearted. They have big hearts not because the are kind and loving but because they have to get blood up to their brain that sits on top of that long neck. From my days in the irrigation business I know it takes a big pump to do that. Did you know Giraffes have hair on the top of their horns. It looks like a nice flat top nicely combed and cut by the zoo keeper, and with just the right amount of jell to keep it in place (could be true). Anyway Lily loves Giraffes and had to get up high to look down on these giants.

As always the water fowl were a great hit with Luke. He wanted to feed the Swan...and I think the Swan wanted to be fed, but the zoo had different ideas about feeding that didn't match either the Swan's or Luke's.

The train ride was a success. Now I know this is a scam. If it is true it has to be on Grandma's side of the family. Haven't seen anyone that looks like this on my side.

Just chillin'

Well that was the Zoo. We then went shopping at Jungle Jim's, an international food store. It is about the size of a WalMart and aisles of food from all over the world. I got sooooo excited about the food that I didn't take any pictures. Give me a break....I'm new at this.
